Aisha Nia Summers - Unit Production Manager

Aisha Nia Summers

Unit Production Manager

Aisha Nia Summers graduated from Howard University, Cum Laude, in the Spring of 2003. While attending she majored in Communications and minored in Theatre Arts. During a two year internship at Carlyn Davis Casting Studio in Washington, DC, she started auditioning and appeared in several commercials. She took note that there were not many positive roles for African Americans females for feature films or television to audition for. Always a woman of high value and professionalism, Aisha Nia was not discouraged but instead decided not to complain about the problem but instead do something about it. Driven by the idea, she decided to add screenwriter and producer to her list of credentials.
Soon after graduation Aisha Nia moved to Los Angeles to make her mark on the industry. Shortly after arriving she started auditioning for roles and was cast in two feature films. She also worked as a producer on the popular reality series, “Boys Town.” She was also cast for the Destiny Child video “Loose My Breath,” and has appeared in a series of shorts.
Recently, Aisha Nia collaborated with MCF Productions to join their powerhouse production team in the filming of “Maximum Cage Fighting,” where she took on the dual role of producing and acting. Currently, she finished her first feature script, “Snapshots,” which will begin filming in the Summer of 2006.
Aisha Nia still studies acting and has taken several screenwriting courses. Her immediate goal is to act in and produce more feature films while continuing to write more scripts. Her ultimate goal is to change the perspective of African American women in film with her projects. Her dream role would be to play a; “kick-ass black action hero in a dramatic feature film.” Her inspirations are Angela Bassett because she never sacrifices her integrity or values when choosing roles and her mother because she has always been supportive of her endeavors.
